“ Chi Chi” the Chiweenie
This author took the time to look for a special little dog
for my grand daughters to love, and both wanted to love
a little fur baby with me. My son had to recover open
heart surgery, and he was dealing with a triple bi-pass.
It is my duty to make positive things happen in my household.
Chi Chi is the blessing of my house to this day.
I thought of finding a Chihuahua for the girls, but there
were none to be found. Then, this unique little puppy
showed up to be adopted with all the cuteness a puppy can have.
His father was a 4 pound Chihuahua, and his mother was a
10 pound Dachshund. He has 4 other siblings that were all adopted out.
The lady said she did not purposely breed these pups. It just happened.
Later, I found out it was a new breed of dog, and the breed was recognized
as not a mixed puppy, but a real breed.
The puppy got all his shots, because the lady worked for a
veterinarian office. I paid an adoption fee of approx. $85.00.
This little boy got to be part of my family. Sandy took him home,
and he is greatly loved to this day.
Chi Chi chooses the person to love, and will bark at anything
strange around the house including other family members walking
around. Chi Chi is totally a dog to be loved! He has to have discipline
and routines set for him to follow. Sometimes he can be over vocal about
everything. I just say in my brain ” you got to love this Chiweenie
no matter what, because he loves me that much.
This breed has brought about many that have contacted me about
how to deal with a Chiweenie. In the process, my article brought
forth a connection world wide with many owners wanting answers.
They love sharing their own challenges with the breed.
These pet owners get to talk with me about their little boy and
little girl Chiweenie. I truly enjoy reading the comments sent to my post.
Chi Chi was one my best articles with 13,286 readers.
The next article related to the receptive language of a dog
with 2, 519 readers. You can find my writings on Google search engine
or on Hub pages. I will be discussing on my podcast the challenge
that I took on to get Chi Chi to actually use expressive language ,
when he gets frustrated about noises.
Chi Chi has been with me through Ovarian Cancer, when I was
diagnosed 5 years ago. There were the ups and downs that we
went through together. Cancer is a challenge, and I was blessed that
my cancer was confined and had not spread.
Chemotherapy was rough, and often knocked me flat on my feet.
I had to have shots just to keep my blood levels from falling to
low. Chi Chi saw me through this horrible time, and now I am going
though my second cancer in life.
This time, I have the love of not just Chi Chi,
but four other special little beings. Two are Dachshunds, one is a
Dog looks like part lab, but is part Basset and Great Pyrenees.
Three are grown pups, and one is a bird named Mango.
All the babies love being with my husband
as we call him Daddy. Then, there is big girl.
She helps to guide the little ones.
Sandy’s Highway of Life is Taking a New Trip.
For over 14 years, my house has had the pleasure of one sweet male
Love Bird Parrot. This bird traveled 1200 miles with me to my new home
over 14 years ago. He is a lover of Rock and Roll Music and loves to watch
television. If you talk to the pups, then you better know he is going to get in
his ability to hear my music through the head phones I am wearing,
when Mango is listening to music that I like. He amazes me with his
ability to carry on his bird conversation, when the fur babies are fussing
about something going on around the yard or house.
Sandy’s Highway of Life is Taking a New Trip.
I now am enduring all the life threatening events that
started at the end of last year. Sandy lost energy, and I was septic.
Sandy was also diagnosed with 102 temperature, and flu.
This event was strange, because there was no actual symptoms
of the flu showing. High fever of 102 lasted only one day.
Then, I was normal temperature once more.
I was given 3 liters of blood to get my anemia up from the bottom.
The doctors suspected cancer of the colon, because I had Colitis
showing with a bacteria that hit my system. It took two more months
to get a Colonoscopy scheduled. The doctors loaded me down with
Antibiotics to stop the bacteria. This type of bacteria can kill you in
as little as 3 days.
The doctors sent me home on more antibiotics with a demand
for me to get the Colonoscopy done. My family jumped on helping
me to get this done in a more timely manner. It even meant once
diagnosed with a colon tumor blocking part of my colon that I get a
surgeon on the job immediately to stop the cancer. So, I changed
cancer centers and got an amazing doctor that takes care of things
Approx. six inches of my colon was removed along with 7 lymph
glands near the tumor. At first, I thought the removal of the cancer
would be all right, since it had not spread. Meaning it was not showing
in other organs in my body. Then, I found out that it can spread
in your blood flowing all over your body from the lymph glands.
Consequently, the blood goes through the lymph glands.
In order to control any spreading, then I had to take Chemotherapy
once more. I had 12 chemo treatments to undergo. This required me
to have a port put in. That was another surgical event that was an out
patient surgery, and it took me a thirty minute surgical procedure.
A port is a new event for me, because usually I had them stick my arm
for putting in the IV’s needed for Chemo. As a result, I did not feel anything
sticking me, because they could spray it and numb it before even inserting
a needle to my vein. That was a tremendous change of positive feeling for me.
This Chemo was nothing like the first treatments of Chemo for Ovarian
Cancer. I still have a few rough days, and that is to be expected with the
changes of body chemistry.
Life Changed My Thinking & Determination to Help Others
What does this mean? It changed me, and now I realize that I am a fighter,
and it is time, for me to go on Sandy’s Highway of Life with you.
It is time for me to think positive thoughts, making positive changes for many
others including children, young adults, and animals. We have an environment
that is affecting the lives of many people. I will get into that on my podcast.
I invite you to stand and fight for all the good things society is in need of.
As a former child from birth to growing up,this 29 year veteran educator
is taking a stand. I am not feeling sorry for myself. I have been near deaths
door so many times from my childhood to adulthood. Thoughts came forth
to me that if I had not gone through Chemotherapy, then how would I know
what others were going through. This meant all people of all ages.
I live a challenging life, but I will never give up my values.
My parents put them there, and communities backed them up.
My family stood with me through thick and thin. I do miss my father
and my mother, because they have gone to a place in the spiritual world
where I know they would have chosen to be there one day.
As a child growing up, I lived on the poorer side of life,
but my spirit is not poor. This spirit of mine has become stronger,
and it is priceless. Where I walk, the spirit passes the caring of all
to those that need it.
Thank all those that help you everyday of your life! They make life
a blessing for us. Life if always changing but look for those who need your
best foot forward. It does make a difference. One kind word, thought, or deed
will bring forth positive change in our world.
